About

Margaret (Maggie) Volchek

Margaret has over 25 years experience in accounting, financial reporting and business management. At Price Waterhouse Orange County, her clients were primarily middle market manufactures and distributors in technology, pharmaceutical, building products and financial services. In 1993, Margaret moved to Price Waterhouse Russia, where she was the general manager for Price Waterhouse Belarus, as well as serving local clients in the financial services sector.

Margaret spent six years as a controller building strong effective accounting departments. One of the things that makes Margaret unique as a consultant is her mix of experience.  She is gifted at analyzing and getting to the root cause of problems. More importantly, she is great at finding creative solutions for those problems.

Margaret’s core expertise is being a wiz at making the back office run well and creating financial reporting that is relevant, useful and timely. She loves creating and optimizing business processes; especially making the most out of existing operational processes to get the financial controls needed with minimal extra effort. Because of this operational emphasis, she has had great success in helping clients improve their business operations, in general, and to reduce their SOX compliance effort in particular. For smaller business clients her emphasis is on assisting business owners in taking control of their finance function by closing the gap between what their bookkeeper gives them and the financial information they really need to grow their business profitably.

Margaret’s clients describe her as: high energy, very strong technically, hands on, able to talk to all levels of the organization in a way that’s understandable for them, someone who gets things done. They also note that Margaret is refreshingly normal for an accountant and has a great laugh as well!
